Chrome – Esstential Add-Ons

What is a profile for Chrome?  A profile is like a unique installation of Chrome, and allows you to have multiple configurations of the Chrome browser.  It is recommended that for each Facebook user that you utilize, you have a separate profile setup.  I would also suggest that you have a separate profile for browsing the web and Facebook (separate from your gaming profile) to keep the cookies, temporary internet files and other cached items to a minimum for your gaming profiles.  This ensures that your gaming profiles run at top performance.

Chrome has built-in profile switching – you may have noticed the new button next to the minimize/maximize/close buttons in the upper right corner of the Chrome browser.  When you click this icon, select “switch user”, and the profile manager will come up.  You can add people and customize the name and icon used for each profile.

Other essential add-ons:

TamperMonkey           This is a Chrome add-on that allows you to install and manage scripts within Chrome, and easily enable/disable and manage them.

Context Menu URL Shortener     This is a Firefox add-on that allows you to create shortened URLs for posting links for Facebook.

Lightshot      This is a Firefox add-on that allows you to create screen-shots within your browser and edit/save them to your computer.

MWAddon     This is a add-on for your browser that has a variety of user scripts that help you along with Mafia Wars.

ClickTrap Remover and Shortlinker 2.2     This fixes the copy/paste issues with game links allowing you to copy/paste the game links to multiple places.

Mafia Demon      This is a premium script ($150 for a lifetime license, $20 for a 30-day license) that has a variety of user scripts to help you along with Mafia Wars.

Spockholm Mafia Toolbar      This is another collection of scripts that are extremely helpful with game play.

Facebook Script Helper      This is another helper for Spockholm Tools.

Important things to remember:

  • Backup your settings in your scripts often.  Computers crash, and with them go your settings…  I suggest using Google Drive (this is a free tool from Google to save files).
  • Clear your browser’s cache easily with CCleaner (Crap Cleaner).  Before you run this tool – remember to backup your script’s settings – they will be lost if you don’t!
